The Eibach Pro Kit says the average drop with their product (as suggested by Tire Rack) is 2.1" front and 1.6" rear. That seems like a ton. Is that pretty typical?

but they do sag (especially front springs) over time when installed and have weight on them (ie: i use to be able to swing a lift right under my frame rails, but now i have to drive up onto a couple of 2x4's first before i can swing the lift under)

btw: i am on h&r's and bilsteins

the spring have proably been on about 5-6 years and 60-70K, and the shocks 1.5 to 2.5 years and 20-30K miles, previous had them installed by my shop

yep.93 That came from threads that were dual questions and had to be accurately broken down to give the correct number of threads.

I would have PM'd u on this, but newbie's not allowed to yet, I guess... bear with me. I'm a pretty ignorant in this area.

Couple qxs:
1) RE: springs on stock shocks - The amount of drop is vehicle dependent, right? On the Eibach Pro Set, the same part # (4140.140) will drop a Honda Accord only 1.5" F/B while the same springs will drop my 2G TL 2.1"F & 1.6B. Found some on Craig's List ($120) for '98 Accord...

2) For jjashaa: When you did your very 1st mods and went with the 04-06 OEM TL wheels did you mount 215/50/R17 tires, or were you able to use something a little wider without any major struggle or expense?

My newly purch'ed '99TL is stock on stock on stock. I don't want to trick it out too much, but just give it a more aggressive posture for starters.

i had the stock 235/45/17 tires on them. i had a bit of a problem on the rubbing in the rear. a little roll with a pipe/bat will fix that problem and possibly trimming the rear bumper tabs just a little. other than that, it was perfectly fine.

our cars are about 300lbs(i think...) heavier than the accord so it drops it a little more for our cars than it would on the accord.

WOW that is a light weight car at only 300 lbs, actually i think they are more like 3500lbs for our cars, but yeah our cars are heavier then the accords, the sound insulation does add up, but also more creature comforts too

I like a pretty 'cushy' ride in my old age. Think there will be any noticeable difference in ride quality between the 215/50/17 and the 235/45/17? I know I'll like the look of the 235s better. It's not a fair comparison, but I have 225/40/19 F & 245/40/19 R on my '06 G35 Coupe and can feel every blemish in the road. The Infiniti sport suspension takes some of the credit for that tho, I guess.

Anyhow, read you were leaving the forum. Thanks for the assist. Take care, dude.

there probably won't be THAT much of a difference. i would think that the 235/45 on the 3G stockies will result in more road feel compared to the 215/50 on the 2G TL-s stockies.

maybe you can slap on some 225/50/17 on the 3G stockies. haha

i won't be leaving this forum, haha. i'll probably just be posting less. and no problem for the help!
