Question Camber kits? (totally new to this >.<)

Okay soooo I decided I want to drop my car Im planning on either getting the tein s techs or the h techs the most I want to drop it is 2 inchs but now I have a question about camber... a few actually...

keep in mind I am totally new to this suspension stuff so please be patient with me lol

Do I really need a camber kit if it will only be a slight drop? (I obviously dont want to be ripping through tires but is it totally necessary even if Im not slamming it?)

If I do need a camber kit what is the best brand and where can these kits be purchased?

Do I need them for both the front AND the back?

My rim stats: 17" with 50mm offset and 215/50/17 tires

edit: and I did do a search but couldnt really find specific answers to some of my questions

lol thanks for the link... so before getting them did you have any uneven wear on the tires? What are you dropped on? Tire size? Thanks!

You probably won't need them with a 1.5" drop, but with a 2"+ drop it may be necessary. Most likely if you do need one, you will need it in the rear. I have the Eibach/SPC kit but if I could do it over again I'd get Ingalls.

With most of the lowering springs available for our car a camber kit isnt usually needed. An alignment afterwords is if you dont want to ruin your tires.

So from what Im gathering I shouldnt really need it... I really havent decided on springs yet I like the Tein S techs but Ive been hearing the H&Rs are really good... trying to keep a stock feel to my suspension (im going to be replacing the shocks with kyb adjustables) Would either of those setups require camber? Im already planning on getting an alignment right after I drop it (dont worry my boyfriend will be doing it I dont mess with stuff I dont understand lol)

My boyfriend said no matter if I just drop it 1.5" or slam it Im going to need a camber kit soooo now Im confused lol

im dropped 2.1 in the front and 1.7 in the rear. when i threw my car on my school aligment rack my camber in the rear was off close too 2 degrees and my front was off bout 1 degree. After 3 to 4 months i noticed uneven tire wear in the inside especially the back (note i do alot of driving also). As a result i got the ingalls rear camber kit (totally worth it) and 4 new tires lol. The front i still havint done yet i just been rotating the tires but after christmas i am going to get the front camber kit. Another note to think of with neagtive camber= less rubber gripping the road

so to easy ur mind i say yes espically to the rear. The front you can get away with as long as you rotate your tires

I would go with H&R on the springs, and to be on the safe side, Ingalls for camber.

You likely won't need an alignment with a conservative drop like Kris said. If you do it will likely be the rear kit only. Ingalls is your best bet b/c it has 2 arms per side: one for camber and one for toe.

What year TL do you have?

You will probably want this kit:

You need a quantity of two. Disregard the picture on the webstore. Here's a better pic:

I am on H&R Sport Springs, if I remember correct its 1.5" drop in front 1.25" rear something like that maybe a little lower, and I did NOT need a camber kit.

Alignment is most important. Make sure you do your research on a GOOD shop that does proper alignment. I'm dropped to about even with the fender all around and I only need the rear camber kit.

I have H&R sport springs (50103) and it drops 1.75F/1.5R. All you need is an alignment and you will be fine.

Hows the ride with the H&R springs? Are they too stiff or too soft? And could I use those with kyb agx adjustables?

When I first put the springs on, it nearly felt like when i was on stocks. I'm pretty sure you could use it with those kyb shocks you mentioned, but i would prefer to go with some tokicos, konis, or bilsteins. I am upgrading to Tein Basics so i wouldn't have to worry about shocks.

You're welcome. Let me know for the suspension too b/c we sell pretty much all the brands available for the CL/TL.

i didn't need a camber kit until after 3 years of having my springs..i suspect weaker shocks and settling to be the culprit, but the car rides better with the camber kit anyway it seems to me and i have perfect tire wear now, so I think it is a good investment, especially the Ingalls 38720 style
