Camber Kit needed?

So today i went to a local shop to get my FF1's installed. After a while i got a call asking if i had a camber kit because if installed without one, the wheels would be cambered to the point where the tires would only last about 1k miles. He never actually put them on the car because of this reason, so i don't know whether or not this is the case.

So the question is, is the camber kit actually necessary for these to be installed correctly?

Thanks!

Make sure to get wheel alignment done ASAP after installing your coilovers or else you'll find yourself buying new tires pretty soon.

Jjashaa - happen to know how long the FF1's are supposed to last? I'm hearing a weird rattle/clunk on the front right coil. Had it inspected at my mechanic's and said that actually all 4 struts are shot. They said all other suspension parts are fine. I only have like 40-50k on them. Sound about right?

no you can run without a camber kit but yes your tires will wear down quicker than normal. 1000k hightly doubtful tho. when i took my car in for it to be aligned i thought the guy was going to have a heart attack after seeing the camber on my car. im running 3.5 degree negative camber which means the top of my rear tires sit inward. as long as you have an alignment done right after you will be okay. the biggest problem you have with tire wear when changing a cars ride height is the toe tends to go out of wack. toe is where the front or rear of a tire faces inwards or outwards which cause extreme wear on a tire. so all in all definitely get an alignment done right after and yes your tires will wear faster than normal but not crazy fast. if you dont want any extra wear then yes get a camber kit to correct the negative camber. I have the ingalls camber kit which works well.

Alignment should NOT be done right after installation. Give it a week and then take it in for an alignment.

40-50k sounds about right for these lower end coilovers.

its about that time when they start need rebuilding.. have you checked your coils to see if you have any leaks?

My b hairymonkey is correct, wait to have the alignment done. Wait 1-2 weeks to let the suspension settle.

They don't appear to be leaking. I think I'll start looking into new coils. You think tein ss would last a bit longer? or anything else you can suggest?

Ahh, I waited about 3-4 weeks for it to settle when I noticed my front tires were already worn out. and they were new! With minimal driving. Just sayin'

Choose coilovers based on your needs. F2's are for those who want to go extremely low while on a budget, that's why I went for them.

Look at other peoples reviews on here, there is more than enough.
