I have a 2003 tl and i replaced the brake pads and rotors and after a couple months ive started to hear a squeak coming from the front passenger side wheel. Its a rotational squeak meaning at a certain point in the rotation of the wheel it squeaks. This is without pressing the brakes at all. When im driving and i hit the brakes softly it squeaks a bit louder but if i press them hard it does not squeak at all. Any ideas of what the problem could be? Also i do have a stud missing on that wheel as well which im not sure if that could be the cause at all but figured i should mention it so all u technical savy people would be able to narrow it down. Im trying to figure this out soon cause i have the xlr8 coilovers coming in thursday so i figured i take care of the problem while its all tore down. I did also order some new studs as well.

 

First thing, spend the 2 bucks on a new wheel stud and put it back in. As for the Brake squeak, take the pads back out, make sure the slider pins are free moving and greased. Also make sure that the pads move in the slots on the caliper and arent getting hung up. Lastly try applying some anti squeal to the back of the pad and see if that takes care of it.
