i would get 18 but i read on this site that 8.5 you have to do costume work and then the offset had to be somwere between 42 and 55 so i just rely want to make sure they fit and have no issues

costume work huh....
well.. this "costume" work consists of just rolling your fenders, trimming bumper taps and maybe give it a slight pull for the rear fenders.
its not all that hard..
my last wheel setup was
18x8.5 +35
18x9.5 +36
215/40/18 and 225/40/18
no real rubbing issues or anything.

if you want to spend money and make your car look stupid, buy 17x7 BBS LM's and dont lower your car. be prepared for every car guy in the world to mock you for it.
if you are new to modding(which is what it sounds like) the rule for this car is lower it, THEN wheels THAT FIT PROPERLY.

maybe you should research it first before you end up buying $3k rims. find pics of cars NOT lowered with BBS LM's(thats actually a dare, you wont find them) its not what other people like, its what the car will look like.
plain and simple dude, it will look like shit. we are looking out for your best interests, if you wanna buy rims and not lower it, buy knockoff wheels that cost 100/wheel so that when you decide it looks fuckin retarded(AND YOU WILL), youre not out that much.
jussayin.

the only point i dont like in lowering the car is depending on the place and suspension u well fell every small thing in the road i dont wanna have to worry about scraping up anything under the car if there alot of people in the that allso would become a problem and like i said befor if u dont like the car dont look at it dont think about it no matter what u do 2 a car som1 allways gonna hate weather they tell u about it or not like i said call the car what u want but i didint buy it for u i brought it for me

does anyone else think what ive said has gone straight over his head? i dont care what your car looks like, youre right, its your car, you will care what it looks like though, if you didnt you wouldnt wanna put wheels on it, let alone LM's.
i know i wouldnt wanna drive around in a bucket with awesome wheels to only have the car look retarded because of how they dont fit the car properly, would you?
will someone please photoshop LM's on a stock TL? we need to show him why its a bad decision.

we understand you dont want to lower it, but if you spend 3k on wheels, wouldnt you want it to look good? hell, i spent 1k on wheels for my other car and it wasnt lowered, i hated myself for doing it backwards, then i lowered it lol

From Tirerack. Keep in mind those are 18s. Not 17s. Tirerack doesn't have LMs in 17s.
Here are BBS LMs (replicas but same look) done well
Here are BBS LMs (replicas also) done perfectly
Look at the fitment. His specs are 19x9.5 +33 all around with 225/35R-19.

I am thinking, boybeasy, that you are linking the word lowered with slammed. If you lower the car, you won't necessarily scrape everywhere even with a full car. When I was lowered with stock wheels, I never scrapped under normal conditions, even with a full car. You won't need to have custom work done to your car IF you purchase the correct set of wheels in the proper dimensions. A little research will help. IMO, the wheels look best with less wheel gap.
Also a side note. Are you planning on purchasing a PAIR of wheels or a SET(4) of wheels. You said a pair in your first post. PLEASE don't put 2 aftermarket wheels on the car with 2 stock wheels. Probably the worst idea I've seen.

are you really getting a set of REAL BBS LMs? how much and where are you getting em from? if you dont mind me asking.
by the way, when I was lowered on Eibach springs and KYB struts, my ride quality didn't change. but i still got about a 2 inch drop. no scraping, no rubbing, no nonsense.

Those specs will be fine. Keep in mind if you didn't know already that there are replicas and real, don't pay real prices on replica wheels.
Guys remember style and taste changes, when I joined I never wanted to lower neither, now I'm tucking tire.
If he sticks around we will rub off on him. No homo lol

Save some money and get the same looks. If they are good quality, few will be able to tell the difference. Post some pictures once you get them on.

pshh put em on now. im running summer tires all winter with no problems so far. i got through that day we had really bad black ice and the other day we had like 4-5 inches of snow just fine.

To help maintain the wheels, give em a nice good wash and then wax them before putting them on. Helps with cleaning in the future. Never have to deal with ice or salt or anything in CA. Only need one set of wheels year round. Yay San Francisco weather.

just be forewarned, like every one has pointed out, your car will look like its lifted with 18s and stock height suspension.
You can drop it 1.75-2" and retain stock ride and feel while getting rid of the raised look.
