I know way too early.

Just wondering if anybody used the Garit HT last winter and what your opinion is?

I am driving around the Montreal area where you never know what mess you are ogoing to get.

I will be running 215/50/17 on my stock rims.

I seriously looked into the Garit HT tires last year. They are pricey but what I read on various sites ... very highly rated. I ended up going with Nokian WR, the only all-season tires with 'the snowflake' emblem on it (ie for extreme conditions like a 'true' snow tire). I like how they handle -- got me through record snowfalls for southwestern Ontario last winter. (It's nothing compared to what Quebec deals with in any given year.) I got those because I get lazy and don't switch to my summer tires right away

Based upon what I read about them ... you've got nothing to lose. Very good tire. Are you sure you want to get 17" snow tire? Get 16" steel rims and save a bundle on tires, IMHO.
