Here si the thing....i went to HK for a year....i came back yestyday...and my bro handed back my 99 TL....and i found out my rims a like fuck.....

i dont have my camera with me rite now. It looks like oxidized white shit on the edge of my rims...... i asked my bro wtf did u do . he said nothing. i ask if he ever wash the rims during da winter...he gave me a fuckin gay smile...so i guess that explains something.

Nope....you can usually lessen the effects....but you are not likely to remove it without damaging the wheel finish. You could try some mothers chome polish or semichrome....but I wouldnt do this unless you are willing to accept what you get. It is likely to take off any and all clearcoator or protectant on the wheels....if there is any in your case (rim looks like raw unpolished alum from here?) Lesson.....those that dont pay for shit (your brother)....will always take said shit for granted! Make him buy it now and get something new! And dont let your brother use it!

And he smiled at you....I'd of kicked his ass right there.....bar none!

NO NO NO NO NO. Do not listen to those telling you to use chrome polish. They are clearcoated wheels. You need to treat them just like you'd treat paint.

BUT from the looks of them they are beyond anything a hand applied cleaner would fix.

My suggestion is to talk to a wheel repair shop. Have them strip the clear and powdercoat them again (yes the clearcoat finish is powdercoat). Painting them won't help. They need to be stripped and powdercoated clear all over again.

Assuming there is no other damage (i.e. curb rash) expect to be in the $50-$75 range per tire. So $200 - $300 total.

Headpower, your brother has nothing to do with your rims. It's salt on the road, especially in Canada that does that.

I have the same exact problem as yours with my 99TL.

I do not how to fix them, but I found a lot of good 99-01 rims at price of $75-50 a piece at junk yards,

Best,

Where in Canada are you? I have a friend who owns a shop that specializes in stripping and refinishing clear-coated wheels. I am in Alberta.

Later,
Paul

Well, there may be a similar shop there. Not sure though. If you want to call him, his name is Darren and the shop is Wheel Works. The number is (780) 463-4763.
