Alignment Specs
Alignment Specs
I just got my car aligned today because I installed some springs/shocks a few months ago. The guy at the tire shop said I needed a rear camber kit. Here are my specs for now.
The rear camber says: Left: -1.4 , Right: -1.2
I've been reading a few threads and I suppose that having negative camber in the rear is common when lowering our cars. So I think I'll get a camber kit soon and re-align my car. Probably going to get the Comptech camber kit.
But my question is, how do the numbers look? I have no idea what the numbers mean. Also I just lowered my car on Comptech Springs (the older ones, just had them sitting around in their box brand new for like 2 years), and Tokico Blues.
Do I just get the Rear camber kit? And with negative camber, the inner part of my tires will wear down faster, correct? So should I rotate my tires prior to getting my next alignment just to even out the tire wear?

well, toe kills your tires. Having camber slightly off wont kill your tires that fast. And your toe looks to be within specs, so you should be set for a good while.
I get camber kits just to have it within specs as thats where I like to have it
Would I recommend them? Yes. Do you have to have them, not really.

it seems to me that you didnt low your car that much. There wasnt a big difference in your camber number from before and after. Your rear tires generally will have a negative camber. Factory spec is a little negative anyway -1. Negative camber will cause you rear tire to wear out unevenly. It will wear out more from the inner tire. If you dont mind the uneven tire wear, then you dont need the camber kit. But if you do, and get the camber kit. I had mine becuase i dont like to rotate my tire when it wear unevenly.
the #s look good. Your toe was bad before. that will wear tires alot faster than Neg camber. A camber kit is up to you. With the numbers shown it wouldnt hurt to get one. But not sure if its necessary. keep a eye on the tires if you dont and if you start to see or notic uneven wear then get one
