Alignment CAMBER kit good?

Hey guys whats the use for the camber kit? People told me I need this if I get my car lowered. I know I'm going for Tein S-techs springs & the Tokico shocks. How about these?

**mod edit - no links to eBay**

Do those help you turn better by the way?

When you lower a car it creates negative camber, which means the wheels tilt in so the tops of the wheels go in and bottoms go out. The effect of this is rapid uneven tire wear on the insides of the tire. And yes a car handles better with a camber kit if it is lowered. So to put it short, if you lower a car without a front and rear camber kit, you will wear out tires fast, and it will not handle as well. Its worth the money for sure.

Well actually your wrong on this, having some neg camber will help the car handle alot better. As the cars suspension rolls over on itself it will help the tire stay closer to level instead of going positive camber where you would loose contact patch size and loose grip. Neg camber is good to a point though. And yes camber can wear your tires if its excessive. Ive never had bad wear when the camber is kept 1.5 or less. (helps to rotate tires often as well)

Oh and TOE is worse on tires than camber. It will wear them out alot faster. After lowering it make sure to get an alignment for that purpose alone

Hey fsttyms1, I've got Tein S-techs. Got an alignment. The toe looks alright now. Camber is -1.4 rear on both sides. Brand new tires. Think this is okay? I'm more concerned about uneven/accelerated tire wear more so than performance.

you wouldnt be able to see .5 deg of toe and that will tear up your tires faster than 3 deg of camber. 1.4 doesnt seem to be to bad. the alignment sheet that should have came with the alignment should tell what are acceptable factory limits. Get a tire tred depth gauge (like 3 bucks ate most parts stores) and keep a eye on the depth ofer like a 1k range. If you can start to see wear or test that there is starting to become more on the edge then look into a camber kit. I dont think you will have have problem (i didnt with -2deg on my civic)

I agree ^^^^^^^^^^

Do a search on my user name and I have plenty of pics, including before and after. There are several threads on this topic to give you an idea. Can't go wrong with H&R sport springs!!

I have eibach prokits and tokico blues and I don't use any camber corrections at all. I have 19"s and all I did was a wheel alignment to correct the toe. It does not eat the tires at all.
