3rd gen TL rims on 2nd gen

I am looking at some 17" rims from an 05 TL for a good price.

Who out there has this set up? How does it look? Do they really stick out?

If anyone has pics, plese post a link, etc.

Thanks

Here is NYZGREATST's TL. If you do it properly it will look just fine. But remember that the offset on these wheels are low so you may have problems with rubbing.

I'd get Honda Accord V6 Coupe wheels rather than the TL wheels. I never liked the OEM 3rd Gen wheels.

You're right - his does look ok with them. He's lowered with a kit right?

Correct, he's lowered on H&R Sport springs just like me, here is a link to his profile in the 2G Member Directory: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...4&postcount=80 and here is his profile on cardomain if you want more info: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/561686

I think they look bad as hell.

How bad is the rubbing? That might steer me from getting them, since I would want the put lowering springs on anyway.

I think the bolt pattern on the new RL is unique. ( it wont fit 2nd Gen TL's)

Ok. So the RL rims are out, but i am very interested in the newTL rims. What is involved in rolling the fenders? Can I put lowering springs on...and how much of a drop?

yea u can lower it. im dropped on H&R sports. rolling the fender can be done cheap ( heat gun and a rubber mallet) or for a little bit of money (rent a fender roller from tirerack.com)

i called around local shops but no1 had any idea what rolling fenders was sp i did it myself. took the cheap route cus i had to take a trip to AC with 4 ppl and luggage within 2 days.

How about a set of rims that actually fit the car without worrying about modifying the car to get them to fit?

now you are talking....I am waiting for my buddy at work to decide if he is gonna get RJ's for his TSX, in which case I get his perfect 04 TSX rims. Otherwise, I think the Type S are in the future.
