225/45 18 And rubbing...

I don't see how on earth you could be rubbing with that setup...
I have Comptech springs with 225/40/18 Falkens and 18x7.5 +42 and I almost never rub...the only thing that will make me rub is a hard turn AND a bump at the same time
w +40 you would rub even more
I'd recommend putting some masking tape on your rear fender and seeing where exactly it is rubbing...if you're lucky it's just your plastic bumper tab which can be dremelled off.

I think he's referring to the tire's sidewall height, not the offset of the wheels.
Changing to a 40-series tire may help a bit as the overall height will be reduced by approximately 7/8". But I think your rubbing stems from wheels with the incorrect offset. What are the specs on your wheels?

I also have 225/45/18's on my car with 18x7.5 and after cutting the tab, I do NOT rub at all. I am also dropped about 1.75 with Tein SS coilovers. What kind of tires do you have. I have the Bridgestone Pole position's and because the side wall sticks out a little bit, it's been known to cause a problem. Cut the tab, and trim the fender and you shouldn't have a problem. Good Luck. PM if you want details of what I did.

Whats funny I have the same problem. I have 18x7.5 with a +45 offset and I rub. I originally had 235/40-18's on I was rubbing. Then I changed to 225/45-18's and I am rubbing still. My tabs are cut and yesterday I bought a Dremel to cut more off. I usually scrap only when I hit a dip and when 4 people are in the car. But the problem is I drive my car Hard and I scrap all the time. And I live SI where there are dips everywhere. I don't know what else to do.

rubbing
isn't there somwhere we can go and they should be able to tell us if a wheel will rub with mods on our cars. I was thinking about 18 inch axis 7 mods but after hearing all this about rubbing I might just stick to 17's :'(
