215 55 17 on 17" type S rims Car 99 TL
Just put on some 215 55 17 on my stock height 99 TL.
Was just wondering if anybody has gone with 55's long term and if you have had any issues come up.
I have driven for a few days and all seems fine although I have not had any weight in the car. passenger, rear seat passengers etc...
Can anybody chime in with experience?
The stock tire was a 205 60 16 and I changed to Type S 17's that had 215 50 17.
The type S rims needed tires and I was able to get a great deal on 215 55 17 so that's how I ended up with them.
Not concerned about any speedo issues, only ride issues.
For anybody else wondering the same thing, Turning and driving with only drivers weight seems fine in my few days of experience with them.

I just installed Firestone Indy 500 215/55-17 on my 03 CLS. You won't have any issues other than a speedo that reads 3% fewer MPH. An indicated 70 mph will actually be 72.1, assuming your speedo was correctly calibrated beforehand.
- 792 revs per mile for 205/55
- 815 revs per mile for 205/50
- 792/815 = 97.1%
