18x8.5 tire size
Whats the best tire size I can fit on 18x8.5 xxr 523? I seen most people fit 215/35r18 but I was thinkin about 205/40r18 would be better. Im drop, about 4 inches off the floor and yes i know I'm gonna have 2 rolled fenders or probably even pull them, I'm willing to do that but I want my tires to stretch the most I can. Sorry for pic size too lazy to crop.![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)

put some 225 or 235s on them so you don't die and you can take advantage of having a wider wheel and have fun cornering! Looks like you run 235/45's now?

I'm running 225/45 right now. I probably should have gone with a lower aspect ratio, but I'm okay with them. For 8.5, 225 is the lowest I would recommend.

yeah thas the stock size for 06 tl the wheels i got on now it does handle better than the 03 tl wheels but 235 and 225 on 8.5 wont be much of a stretch plus im mainly trying to strech so i dont rub so much

you shouldn't need much of a stretch to run those wheels. You'd be better off just rolling your fenders up front and running the 225s. Are your tabs trimmed in the rear? There is a member here running 8.5s with a 42 offset and either 225s or 235s and isn't rubbing. Your rear wheels dont seem cambered in much for the drop that you have. Are you running a camber kit?

Also, it seems you still have your front fender liners in, if you do then thats likely a big part of the problem. You can cut the centers out and leave the rest. Tires tend to rub a lot on the fender clips.
