18x7.5, 42 offset....opinions
I know recommended offset is 45mm for a 7.5 inch rim. With it being close, will I encounter than many problems? If I ever lower it, it will be mild.

the above offset is 42, but I read on the sticky that 45 is "recommended." The car will initially NOT be lowered, and if it happens ever, it will be mild.

get the right tires if you must have these. find something that doesn't have a chunky shoulder...like the discontinued pirelli p7000s. i had similarly spec'd wheels on a 02 tl-s with eibach prokits and rear camber correction. cutting the tab and slightly trimming the edge of the rear bumper that forms the wheel arch relieved all issues of rubbing; didn't have to modify the metal fender lip. when i switched to bridgestones, it rubbed more often and the metal lip. you may also not want to install a camber kit.

I had (now my bro's car) Racing Hart M5 with 18x7.5 +42 offset and I had to cut the tabs+roll my fender a little.
He currently has 19x8 +48 (similar spec as 18x7.5 +42) SSR Agle Strusse with Tein H-Tech and it rubs a little when going over a bump.
