17x7 +40mm w/ comptech sport
im looking to get some Enkei GF1's for my '00 tl. its lowered on comptech sports/koni sports on the lowest perch, so its approx. 2"F and 1.5"R drop. the available rim sizes for this wheel are 17x7 +40mm offset, or 18x7.5 +38mm. I'm pretty sure the 18" rim will not fit 
, but im wondering about the 17x7. what size tires would i use to have them not rub, if its even possible with this wheel size. Thanks in advance everyone.

With an offset that low (+40) even with 17x7 rims ... you'll probably stick out (ie rims will not be flush with body contour). If you're that low ... you might have issues with camber. Forget about the 18s. Nice rims but not meant for the 2nd gen TL. Sorry ... I wouldn't make an expensive mistake by ordering this one.
