Yet another fan blower issue

hi all, great forum i've been reading a lot of these threads for different problems and it is very helpful i almost never have to post because most questions have already been asked!

but now i have a problem with my fan blower motor on my 2003 TL like many of you had and thanks to this forum i found out like 3 weeks ago that it was because of the connector that melted on the blower motor. i was gonna pick a new connector the next day but after playing with the melted wire a bit it started working again so i decided to keep my 15 bucks until it decides to **** up again.

with time it got even worse and i had to put the wire in a certain position for it to work and it melted even more and today it stopped working again while i was working (i was doing pizza delivery to help a friend) and when i tried to play a bit with the wire it only made sparks and worked maybe like half a second until it died again and after that it was impossible to get it to work again so i am afraid that these sparks may have damaged something else...

when i got home i managed to remove the melted (very melted) plug from the blower and i sliced up the wires from the bad plug (never using it again lol) and tested the wires with a test light (with key on and a/c on ofcourse) and i got no power...

i know it can't be the fuse on the driver side because if it was, the climate control wouldn't light up at all (i removed it just to make sure) and i don't think its the relay because even tho i dont have a multimeter to test the continuity or whatever if i hook it up to a car battery it ''clicks'' (or maybe that doesn't mean anything?) and i also checked the blower motor fuse and its still good i even swapped it with another fuse (the defrost one) just to make sure

so now i'm thinking i may have a bad resistor (or transistor as honda calls it) but i want to know if its possible that the sparks of the two wires touching blew the resistor? because im pretty sure that the sparks caused the problem.

sorry for the long post thanks for help

Ya should have replaced the blower motor's connector harness in the first place, instead of risking bigger problems ....just to save a few $$$. Good luck with the trouble-shooting !

I had the same problem. Replaced the wire harness and resistor. That fixed it for me.

Just had mine stop blowing, just this morning I ended up needing to replace the harness, resistor, and blower all at once, everything was fried lol.

Ya have to wonder if the company tried to cut corners or if they just built in a time bomb.
