Wheels Rubbing

I have aftermarket wheels, ive had a few sets, but recently the inner wheel well on the front driver side plastic part is starting to come off. Whenever i turn I hear it rub against the part sticking out. Ive been told by 2 body shops just to either cut it off or leave it on and it will rub itself of and its ok for the car, is that true? thanks

If your rubbing is indeed just from the inner fender liner out of place/falling down, why not just invest in a few of the retaining clips that hold the plastic to the body?

did you go with a different offset on the rims?

look at wear mark on part and tire
wouldnt be the first person to need a little more room- as provided by a dremel tool
Many have to cut back the rear wheel fender outer lip- ck for tire wear on the outer edge

I suggest pulling the wheel and looking into the cavity to see if there are any "holes". Compare to the other side if you are not sure. (The visible part of the clip looks like a button with two flat sides...to remove you pry at the flats simultaneously and pull out the "button", then the whole clip comes out).

There are several different dimensions of clip used, mostly on the plastic-to metal interfaces...Bumpers, undertrays, fender liners etc. It's really difficult to tell from Acura's parts drawings where they go, so I always get some from a dealer.

They cost anywhere from $2, to $6 USD each ...
