quick question, is it difficult to change the wheel bearing on 00 TL on the front? whats the size of that big nut? and are the bearings welded to the hub or do they just slide on?

thanks guys

The front bearing is pressed into the knuckle. You need to remove the knuckle, de-press the old bearing out, then press the new bearing in. not sure on the bolt size socket on 99 though. some said 32 some said 36.

Hey - any luck changing the bearing? I may have a similar problem on the left rear. Sounds like you might need some sort of press or something.

I actually rented the tool, and tried to do it this sat, but no luck i couldnt get the big nut loose, by the way it is 36, so couldn't do it, you need air tools to get it oose, im going to my friend today to change them, let you know how it went.

Pain in the ass, my car is a 2000 and everything was rusted around the wheel, so we couldn't get the bolts off from the ball joints or the bottom one. horrible, so we finally got theaxle out of the bearing, had to heat it up till it was practically red, and then hit it with a hammer untill it came out. beacuse the bearing comes out in 2 parts, you have to get the other part off the wheel hub. so we had to cut it at an agle and it came off pretty easily. putting the new one in wasn't difficult, you just need a piece of wood, and makse sure it is going in even on all sides.

found out it wasn't something i could have done by myself, you need air tools (decent ones) to get the big nut off. and other tools

I had the same problem with another acura I owned

Wheel bearings are now the one thing I will definetely not do myself ever again. If something goes wrong at the shop, they foot the bill, not you.

changed the driver side fron yesturday, went pretty good, all bolts came out quick, and bearing came out pretty fast, took about 1 - 1.5 hours. now i need the rear ones, found one for 70$ at rockauto .com but i don't know if they are decent or not, we will see, next week
