What can I do?
What can I do?
I'll try to make this short....... I bought an 03 TL's in Jan 06' from Acura Of Serramonte w 28k....... About 35k my tranny went out so they replaced it. Did the dealer 60k service @ 65k and my CEL light w/ my VSA's would come on. Had it scanned and it read p301-306. Took it back to the dealer and they told me I needed EGR cleaning. Did it at another shop but the problem still existed. Took it back to the dealer and they told me I needed a valve adj. Ihad it done at the dealer($580) and they said cylinders 4 & 5 were leaking @ 12% and they needed to perform an engine teardown which labor alone would cost $2k. I said screw that and took my car after the valve adj. I had the codes read somewhere else and the same p301-p306 were coming up. If only 4& 5 were misfiring, should p304 & 305 be the only codes showing? My car dosen't fall under the extended warranty but was there also a powertrain warranty. When I called and spoke with the service manager about my concern w/ the codes and he yelled at me stating I MUST do the engine teardown before anything. I called client services but thet said my car's out of warranty. What can I do? I hated to spend another 2-3k on my car @ 80k. note. read the car history file and this car had misfire problems since 10k. They changed the cam(@17k)/pcm(@22k)
Done all of the above........ Maybe this helps.. when my car is idling it seems to trigger the VSA's/CEL... esp. in the morning... everything from coilpacks/sparkplugs cleaned out egr ports, adjusted valves, cleaned CAI, tested cat, no exhaust leaks, always used premium fuel..HELP? Even if the code is reset, the lights will come back on the same day

your getting misfire codes. something is causing it. I HIGHLY doubt its the IAC or the ignition. Has any one done a compression test? Its still possible that a coil pack is failing while under load, but for testing it would pass within range. It could also be a ECU problem, or a wire thats not making good contact somewhere.

you got a lemon man, leaking in all cylinders at 5% is bad, but 12% on two is terrible. Your car must drive pretty poorly and losing a lot of power. Get rid of the car or get a low mileage junk yard engine and see if that fixes the problem. It sounds completely engine related and ECU related so make sure to get a new ECU, wiring harness, etc if you get a junk yard engine.
