Weird headlight problem!!! Need Help!!

Hello guys

So as normal wear and tear i changed both of my head light bulbs. All good till one day the passenger side started to work pretty much when ever it wants. Fuses were fine, for sure bulbs were fine as well so my next step was ignitors. After couple of hours of work on my car i swapped driver side ignitor with the passenger side and found out that i have to change ingnitors. i bought MAXLUX igniters (after market), installed and everything was back to normal till about few weeks later when the driver side HID buld started to almost turn yellow in color and lose brightness. The passenger side started to turn on ones every 100 tries and the weird part is that when i turn the head lights on i can hear a static noice coming from the passenger side speakers (front and back) also i hear that static when i turn the hi beams on. And that happens only if the stereo is on and volume up.

Am I missing something?!?!?!!??

Need help

Thanks

The static noise is excessive RFI from one of your ballasts which is dying. You will need new ballasts. Just change all ballasts, bulbs and get a new wiring harness with them and be done with these problems. Do not go to the dealer for this or you will get raped to the tune of $2400. This is easy enough to swap out yourself. I got the Morimoto kit for my TL and it comes with a 5 year exchange warranty for ballasts and bulbs.

your problem is not so strange,,you tried to band-aid something that needed minor surgery

many of us run a `kit` with `2 new everything`, from www.hidextra.com.. inexpensive and works very well

the wiring harnes/ relay system is optional- for those having really strange probs with oe fuse or relay...
so you install new power for the lights and be done with it

not needed for the TL

only need the basic 59$ kit,,it contains 2 ballast- 2 connector wires with the ignitors built in and 2 new bulbs,,thats all you need to make the lights work correctly
Its much easier than it sounds

all you add is a set of spade connectors (or splice/solder) some zip ties, and shrink wrap plastic for wires
