I drove my car into a huge puddle in a middle of a huge thunderstorm. No surprise, in the middle of the puddle my car dies on me. Water is most likely SOMEWHERE in the system.
The car will start, and being left idle, it's fine. Engine is a little louder than it usually is. However, when putting gas into it, after a while it just dies. But I'm able to start back up again immediately.
I left it alone overnight in my garage. And it seems to be getting slightly better, but it still dies on me. I checked the Air Filter and that's completely dry. Is it my transmission? Do I need a flush? What do you guys think it is and what should I do?

All depends on how much watter you were in. It wouldnt hurt to change the oil. Why would you think its your tranny?? That has nothing to do with how your car is idling. Start it and let it idle for a while to burn off any moisture and slowly apply throttle after that to see if you can get it up higher. Do you have a Check Engine light on?
no joke, probably a foot of water... i've done the idle/throttle thing, and it goes dead on me. the check engine light IS on. And I am actually due for an oil change. I might just do that. haha

well if u have a check engine light get it diagnose then go from there....sound like u might have water mixing in the fuel but i dont think a foot of water would do that but check the cel light and let us know what it is so we can further asist u

I got the diagnosis, it's a failed TDC Sensor. Something about the "Top Dead Center" Crankshaft not working properly.

That's essentially the Crankshaft Position Sensor. The car uses this sensor to determine the position of the piston when it fires the spark plug via the crankshaft. If the sensor fails, the computer cannot determine when to fire the plug, which causes the problem you're having right now. You should be able to replace it and you'll be good as new.
Change your sensor(easy to do).
Then change your oil, definitely run a few quarts through before putting the drain bolt back on and filling it up.
Then I'd buy some fuel system cleaner, seafoam or good octane booster and fill up with 93 to get rid of any moisture left in there.
If you still experience some problems then I'd change the plugs too. I doubt they'll be faulty, but they possibly could be.
