I have a 1999 Acura TL with two small but annoying problems: 1.) every summer for the past three years, my am radio reception has intermittently given me problems. Either I have no reception or sometimes it is very poor reception. I think the fm reception is slightly affected but not nearly as much. It seems connected with the use of the a/c system but sometime there is no reception for a period of time after the a/c has been off for several hours or several days. My guess is that there is condensation around the antenna for the radio. Anybody else have this problem and is there an easy fix?
2.) My keyless entry fobs work intermittently. The trunk release always seems to work no matter which fob I use. But the door opening and locking functions work about 25% of the time but some days never and some days quite well? Any thoughts?

 

AM reception is TL's w/ the rear window antenna is not good IMO. Check w/ local stereo shop for AM boosters or other ways of improving reception.

Open you keyless fob and check for cracked solder jts on the circuit board and/or loose battery clips. Resolder cracked jts, clean and "spring" battery clips may fix the problem. Otherwise, check ebay for a replacement fob.

yea for the remote, mine was really old/busted i would have to hit it on my hand couple times to see if it can work, opened it up, new battery and worked like new
