My trunk will not close. Looks like the latch is fine but it is not catching and will not close. Any advice?

 

I have a 2000 TL 3.2

 

I have a acura 2003 Same problem i took a pro bar On the side were the tail lights are not the lid i used a pro bar outword a little to get it realined with both the latches

get inside the trunk and see if it's aligned. Bring a flashlight, it will get dark

 

U need a replacement latch assembly 40-50$ ebay used or $80 brand new. junkyard is another option.

 

I had the same issue and the problem was the Plastic guide that serves as switch for the Trunk lights in the latch sticking in.


Fix? FREE = Greased the white plastic guide in the latch so it could move freely again and my trunk could close again.
