Trunk problem - 99 TL

I opened my trunk and now it will not close. It seems the latching mechanism will not engage when I close the trunk. When I press the trunk open button on the door or use the remote, I don't hear any noise like I used to. Is there a fuse for this? I looked in the book and it doesn't show a fuse. The manual pull in the truck doesn't do anything else either. I pull it but it doesn't do anything on the lock itself, it seems like there is slack in that cable at the lock which, to me, seems like the lock is open so it doesn't "open it again".

Any thoughts?

Try to manually close the latch piece with it open (with a screw driver or something) and see if you can get it to move. There have been a few who have had to replace the latch.

I tried that but it will not stay "latched" It seems to be stuck in the "open" position. Any other thoughts?

I guess I will try to replace the trunk lock. It looks like I can get one online and it isn't too expensive. I already took the old one off and it was easy. Since there doesn't seem to be a fuse for the trunk lock, I'm not sure what else could be wrong.

Here is the final fix. I ordered a new trunk lock ($60.00 plus shipping) and replaced it and it now works perfectly. It looks like the lock just went bad. There must be some sort of
Solenoid in the lock that went bad.
