I just picked up my car yesterday (2003 TL-S with 28k miles). I love the car so far, but have found one strange problem. The trip odometer buttons (both Select & A/B) do not work at all. They are completely non-responsive when pressing them, and neither light up as well.

Has anyone experienced this, or can you offer advice? Is this an indication of a larger issue?

I am a bit disapointed, as this is a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. I would not expect little problems like this to exist. I will be taking the car into the dealer after the holiday to have it fixed.

Also, anything having to do with the odometer on a used vehicle makes me nervous, though I know it is not related to the main odometer.

I don't know much about what it might be but checked my TL to see if they really light up. My two buttons located to the right of steering wheel both light up when I put on the lights. They are fairly faint, but the lettering lights. I would think the lighting would be seperate from the actual functioning of those buttons. Maybe someone disconnected the buttons and the wires for the lights? I have a thread about my car being a "convection oven" because my heat is stuck on in some modes. I also have a 2003 (but not the S). They recommeneded that I take it in for a free fix since it's still under a 50,000 mile warranty. Your Acura is most likely under warranty. It does sound like someone disconnected it since it's both buttons.. Just a guess. good luck.
