Hey guys, started having a problem that unfortunately seems like transmission yesterday. When I went to a friend's house my car was running fine (1999 MBP TL). When I got back into it and started driving, the transmission started shifting VERY jerky. I obviously know about the transmission issues associated with these cars, and am hoping that is not what it is.
I've read on here that when these trannys die, the D4 light starts flashing, which didn't happen. I was able to drive home alright and the transmission held gears just fine, but every shift was very abrupt and jerky. Could this just be an issue associated with the computer? Or is it the beginning of the end for my 4-speed? (Got a '99 because I had read that the 4-spd SS tranny was more reliable than the 5-spd). If someone can offer some input here that would be great
