Transmission Problems P1739***

hey guys,
was driving sunday and the check engine came on. its a 99 tl. the code is p1739. i read all about it. the thing is, my car would qualify for warranty repair but it has a salvage title so the warranty was cancelled just 2 months ago. i bought the car damaged in the front and fixed it up. what do you guys recommend i do? about how long can i drive it on this code before any real mechanical problems begin to occur. so far i have not noticed any transmission problems yet, it shifts smooth. when i got the car from auction, the damage did not go past the front impact bar, meaning the engine was not even scrached in the accident, just some minor cosmetic damage.

edit: should i replace the fluid? its at 109XXX right now.. i dont know if the previous owner managed to do that...

you are past the time limit on the warranty extension anyway- so moot point on salvage

have aamco look at the car and test it for you. If you have the 4 speed its very good trans and just needs an overhaul at 2500$
When the trans goes out it will go out- with a little warning, or not!!
Read the `tranny failure` thread for all symtoms known and pay attention

the code seems to have disappeared along with the p0420 code i had. im guessing it might have been on saturday night when i was driving i hit a pretty deep puddle and maybe flooded a sensor causing a short. but as soon as it got warm outside it dried out. hopefully problem solved. so i guess no on the fluid change?
