Transmission problems with 2003 Acura TL-S

I have a 2003 Acura TL-S the car runs great with a perfect engine
Last april i took the car to Acura for servicing and i was told that there was a recall on transmission, something has to to with the 2nd gear " modification to increase the flow of transmission fluid to the affected gear. If there is any indication of damage to the gear, the dealer will replace the complete transmission assembly" The actually only added son fluid to mine
Anyway, last night while i was trying to park i did a reverse and than a D5 and the car wont move, it did eventually move, but it took its time, when ever i turned the car on and off, the transmission works perfectly.
In other words, when i start the car , the car works perfectly, but if i drive it for a mile or two and try to park, do a reverse and a d5, it starts giving me problems other than that no problems.
NB: note that , if i turn the car off and on, the issue is gone

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How long does it delay before it goes into d5
Phone the Acura 1800# and check if they put on the transmission oil jet kit on or replaced the transmission after 05ish...

It's not a delay like the engine is not connecting with the transmission note that if I turn the car off and on everything is back to normal.
wHen I tool the car to the dealer in April they put he jet kit, they said that he transmission looked good.
Thanx for ur answer.

you got the external oil jet kit installed because there was no heat damage to 2nd gear parts--the kit brings oil directly to that area

its not related to our main problem of clutch pack wearout,,
and NOT something they can inspect during the oil kit install--when they said it looks good they meant no excess heat showing on the inspected gears (using boroscope)

take the car to a parts store for a free code reading- report any codes back here
After that it may need the dealer--starting the car reset certain things,,then its getting a bad signal on trans
more than 2 seconds to engage from N to D5 is longer than normal.
up to 2 seconds is normal-cant quick shift the TL in a 3 point turn or similar--

did acura say if you were covered by the trans extended warranty?- not all 03s are
call 1 800 382 2238x5 if not sure--need cars VIN

Just got back from the dealer, yeap the transmission is gone and they want 4400 plus tax to replace it.
My mechanic told me that getting a used Transmission would be a bad idea, since th tl 03's are known for having bad trans.
Anyway, a friend of his rebuild them for around $1600.
Anyone has an experience with rebuilt transmissions???
Again, thank you for all the help

speak with the service MANAGER, not that kid service writer looking to make their whole month on you

guessing its `out of vin range` for the warranty extension- which is bs- they can work with corp to get you some real help regardless of any limits

seen in april 2010 for oil kit, 6 years after recall issued!!! for heat prob to 2nd gear, and they inspected and said its all ok? thats a laugh

rebuilding unit of yours is ok- thats a good price
or acura unit comes in a better case- released in 05, with rebuilt unit inside, the oiler goes inside on the revised case too

thats what they quoted the 4g on , but can make it go down low low if you work with the SM to get goodwill
