Transmission Problem - 1999 4D
Hi,
I have a D4 transmission. Problem is when changing gears.
Please see my movie:
http://youtu.be/xJkDpLfVl9cComment:
Only when the transmission is hot- after about 30 miles of driving.
Interesting fact: when releasing the accelerator pedal or not to increase speed when changing gear, the problem does not occur.
The problem has already occurred. I changed the oil in the gearbox and the problem stopped for about 4000 miles but then come again.
Please, what to do ?
Thanks, Luki.
PS. sorry for my english, I'm posting from Poland

good job rebuilding a trans yourself!! not many will try that
make sure you use HONDA atf, the new formula is called DW-1
its replaced the atf honda used for the last 20 years
never use dextron 3, it kills our trans

Hey Luki, congrats on a successful tranny rebuild !
The '99 TL with the older 4 speed AT was a much more durable tranny then the newer 5 speed AT which was in the 2000 and up models. You should be good for another 100k .
By the way......your "english" is far better than a lot of the others on here as you may have already noticed ! Good luck and check back in.
