trans question

So I have an 03 tl type s with almost 108,000 miles and it still has the original transmission (still runs fine). Is this abnormal because it sounds like most peoples go out way before 100,000. and is it guaranteed that it will go out? thanks

I posted the exact same question a few days ago (mine has 80k miles tho) and apparently it will indeed go sooner or later. This said, 108k with the original tranny is very good.

Boy when I was young "Acura" and "my first car" were words I never heard. My first car was a 1984 Cavalier (only 4 years my junior)

my cousin's just went, it had 128k on it :-(

My 03 Type S only has 59k, should I do the tranny flush at 60k or just leave it alone?

That's funny. My TL is my first car as well, but I got a killer deal on it, payed for it myself. I have a cooler on my tranny, and according to the dude I bought it from, the gearing has been changed a bit between second and third? I notice that it's a lot slower to change, especially if I'm accelerating hard. I have 125k miles on it. I don't really know if I should worry?

yeah i got a great deal on mine too. and that was the problem with the transmission in the first place, the 2nd to 3rd clutch wearing out.

The TL-S was also my First (Own Bought) Car....
Checked Las Vegas for a Night with some Money Ive Got, Saw the Car in the Strip fell in Love with It.. Signed the Papers same Day, There goes my Gambling money......

Now my real First car (Gifted) was a 1987 Pontiac 6000 (Horrible Low Power Engine 2.8L 145HP V6 for an almost 2 ton car)... Then was my MonteCarlo SS (S/C) the S/C sound was Sweet, Sold it to Go to Las Vegas for some Action and you Know the Rest.

the truth of the matter is some of those transmissions lasted as little as 25K and some make it 200K plus. The vast majority go out between 70-100K miles. Premium or Sport it does not matter they all are crap.
