My tranny went out yesterday. My car has 166000mls. But MOBB said"fight for one to be goodwilled if you are out of warrranty" Mine is out of warrenty. What do you mean by that? Help me out here. I really don't want to pay $3500.thanks

 

It means just that. Ask the service manager to work with you. At 166,000 miles I doubt you will get much help. Ask them if they would discount the labor for you. Parts you probably won't be able to discount.

Or go to AAMCO or another local tranny shop and get a price. You're looking at `$2500 from the local shops.

 

To add to that ask to speak to the Service "Manager" not writer. Speak to him directly. It also helps if you have brought your car to the dealer for other routine maintenance. Be nice, not angry.
