Trans drain plug is being a PITA

Trans drain plug is being a PITA

Today I bought oil, filter and 3 qts do start the 3x3 flush. Did the oil change fine. Go to remove the trans FILL bolt and it was a BIATCH but I got it, placed it back in finger tight, move to the drain plug and it wont budge. I am reluctant to tap the trans case with a hammer even if I do it lightly, Any other suggestions? I will admit I was on jack stands today because the lift was taken and I am going on a trip tomorrow so I wanted to get it done before so I couldn't get any great leverage but it shouldn't be THAT tight

to be 100% honest I would think if it needed THAT much force it could crack the trans housing. That's more of my concern,

Try torching it first then . I think if anything the drain bolt would fail before the trans housing but we all know the Honda transmission is made of glass so maybe you're on to something

Is the trans case aluminum? it appears to be so I am not sure heating it would be a smart idea

PB blaster first. If not 3/8 + end of floor jack pole, but breaker bar would be best if available

I just kick the ratchet with some working boots, works 100% of the time.
Breaker bar is safer as long as the car is safely jacked up or on a lift.

^ same here- I either give it a kick or hit with a rubber mallet. They tend to get stuck pretty tight as does the fill bolt

Put your back into it and use some more force.

As for using heat, or taping on it with a hammer think about it for a min, the trans is getting well over 300deg, heating the bolt a little isnt going to hurt it, and as for tapping on it, it sees far more vibration and shock from normal use/driving than tapping on it with a hammer would do. Also, think about how much force you needed to break the fill bolt loose, you didnt break the case then did you?

^^^ Yep, first time I removed it I gave it a good kick while sitting at the front of the car. IMO, this is totally safe if you still have the wheels on.
