TL finally running again wohoo

Ok this is the deal, my freind had a 99 3.2 TL which was flooded because of a water main that broke in an underground parking deck over night, the car was flooded all the way to the roof so the it was totaled. My Freind bought it back from the insuracne compnay for $1500 and sold it to me for $2500 which i thought was a good deal. The car has 75K miles on it, i've had the car for 3 weeks now trying to get it to run which it finally did this morning. When i got the car a lil water was in the oil and the tranny so i flush it out over and over again then i drop the oil pan and clean it out, change the the plugs, took everything out the car seats, center console, carpet, and the door panles and clean them. The acr runs pretty good and idles pretty smooth so all i have to do now is wash it and put everything back in it i will have pics ASAP. Thanks Fsttyms1, Black Acc, 03CoupeV6 for your the help

all the electrical system work except the back windows wont go up or down and the power seats dont work but everything else works, as far as rust there aint none and i forgot to add the gas tank was full with water so i had to drain all the gas out and dry then refill it with 93 octane then it cranked right up

Awesome I have a 99 DEG also, looks awesome when it's detailed. get the rear window motors replaced as well as the front seats and you have a great car, still with those minor problems you got a steal for 2500.00.

Ugh - water attacks the bonding material on the clutches in your tranny - not to mention the corrosion on steel parts.

Good luck.

Let the Desert Dry It Out

If you lived closer to the Mojave, I would drive it out there and let the car sit for a few days in the ultra low humidity to dry out any moist electrical or internal body components before they short circuit. Arizona, Nevada would also work. It's a good time for a road trip!
