Ticking Noise near Rear Driver Side wheel

As my car sits on idle, there is a ticking noise coming from the rear driver side wheel, well near it. My friend told me its the muffler. I'm not quite sure it is, I can only hear it when I stand near it. Anyone has a clue on what the problem could be?

are you sure it's not near the front. Open your hood and check if the sound is more prominent there.

I have exactly the same issue. The ticking sound is definitely coming from the muffler area on the driver side and not the front. It bugs the hell outta me as I can't figure out what it is.

Its the EVAP canister. If you get down on your knees and look under the car in that area you will see a black box about the size of a shoe box. Thats the problem. Some get noisy. You can buy a new one and replace it fairly simply, its about 55 bucks

Mine has been doing it randomly for almost 9 years now. Its a common thing. If it goes bad it usually throws some sort of evap code.
