i will check for the evap canister but I'm pretty sure its from the front. It very similar to tensioner pully when it was about to go but its not that, i changed it a little over a year ago. I read something about purge control somewhere, i dunno what is that...

You're talking about the EVAP purge solenoid valve. The canister is in the back and the solenoid valve is up front under the hood. It's right behind the fire wall on the driver's side, just under the windshield. When you're in the car, it sounds like a ticking sound right behind the dash. Do a search on here for that, then pop the hood and listen for it.
I'm guessing it might still be the canister, though. It makes a deeper ticking sound like in your vid. The purge solenoid valve is a little higher frequency.

I have a sound like that on my car, its a lighter sound than yours though kinda like chop sticks hitting each other at a fast rate. I took it to the dealership when it was under warranty awhile back, they said it was normal and wouldn't fix it.

It's just annoying. Shouldn't cause any problem. I was going to say might be a problem passing emissions, but if no CEL, then I guess not. That system basically equalizes air pressure inside the gas tank as the fuel is sucked out.

Does it only do this when in drive? The solenoid will do it in park too. Cat tell from that vid but it doesnt sound like the solenoid. That has a much higher pitch fast tick

it ticks when its in D, when i shift to neutral, the ticking gets much quieter but i know its still there. It also ticks when when revving but i dont hear it after 1500 rpm, engine n exauste sound takes over.
As for CEL, yes I do have a code for EVAP system but ticking is coming from where the solenoid is.

I went to check it out properly tonite. It only does it in D, not in neutral n park. With my wife holding the brake, gear in D, I pop the hood, check around and then I hold my CAI pipe tight and it stopped ticking. The pipe is hitting somewhere but I couldn't tell from which end of the pipe the sound was coming. It's too cold here, -10 ( -15 with wind factor) so cant really check it out. I think the bottom side is hitting the frame around the opening for the filter but its resonating around top side around the IM. but atleast its not what i thought it was

Well where I am atleast, no yearly emission tests. Only if your car is not platted for 1 year, then u have to pass inspection to plate it and they inspect every fuken bolt on the car ... n make you pay for it ... happened to my accord, i had to drop 2 grand to restore it

I may have the same problem a few weeks back and gladly problem was solved.
Engine was not misfiring at all but I found 2 of my spark plugs( firewall side) were loose.
The ticking noise were actually the sparks escaping.
So I just cleaned all the plugs and tightened it up.
Engine runs smooth & no more ticking noise.
Hope this helps.

bump from the dead!
was the OP's problem ever solved?
I'm having the same issue. I only hear the ticking while in drive with my foot on the brake. If I put the car in park or neutral or while I'm moving, I dont hear anything. And I'm not showing any CEL's.
