TCS Light Weirdness
TCS Light Weirdness
I'm the original owner of a 2000 TL and I'm pushing 160,00 miles. The original tranny gave up the ghost about 90,000 miles ago, and the replacement has been virtually troublefree. Today while on the freeway my Fuel light came on. A couple miles later my Check Engine light came on. That wasn't a complete shock, because I'm still on my original oxygen sensor. After fueling the car, the fuel light reset itself and the Check Engine light remained lit. About 10 miles later the TCS light came on and stayed on. When I went to park the car at home, I put it into reverse and the car acted as if it was in neutral. I then put it into D5 thru D1 and again it acted like it was in neutral. After pushing the car into its parking place, I shut it off. When I came back out after calling my useless Acura service rep., I started the car and everything seemed normal(?). The Check engine light was still on, but the TCS light was off, and the car would move under its own power. I reset the ECU and the Engine light went out.
To be perfectly honest, these are not the first gremlins I've had that seem to be electrical/computer related. Can anybody shed any light on my dilemna?

Well the TCS light will usually go on for most things that would trigger the CEL light. What concerns me is the lack of wanting to go into gear. That sounds like a trans issue (which woul cause both those lights to go on) If you get the CEL to come back on go to a auto parts store and ask them to read the code for you right away. Most do it for free.
