TCS light??? HELP!

I don't know if this is a big thing but I never use my TCS (Traction Control System) on my car. Well, for some apparent reason the TCS light came on. I tried to turn off the TCS with the button but the TCS light just stayed on. Actually, my CEL and TCS light came on at the same time. I don't know if it has anything to do with it but I always get the CEL 0420 code and then it goes away or I just clear it out. So, I think that's why the CEL came on. Didn't have time to stop by the auto part store to have it read yet. Just wondering if anyone had this problem with the TCS light and what they did to fix it. I tried searching btw, but TCS was to short for a search and Traction Control System didn't bring up any threads. Thanks for any help.

The TCS light often comes on when the CEL light does(its programmed to). Its probably related to your code. Get your car repaired.

Well the TCS light goes on after a couple minutes of driving. This last time I drop my car it didn't come on. I got my CEL read and it was I suspected. CEL P0420/0401. I'm not too conerened with the CEL but the TCS light has never gone on by itself b4. That was my concern.

Well driving with the codes that it keeps coming up with isnt good. Try cleaning the EGR ports and resetting the ECU to see if that takes care of the codes.

You have a link for the EGR ports your talking about. Yeah, I had the scanner clear out the codes. That codes comes and goes. I don't think my cat or O2 sensors are bad. I'll try that EGR cleaning once you let me know. I have a smog check in a couple of months so I'll find out if the cat or O2 sensors good for sure. Thanks for the help.

GOT SAME CODE P0401: "EGR Airflow Insufficient" ... suspect EGR ports require cleaning.

Before going to smog check with codes- a sure failure anyway- go there and ask for a pre test- usually 25 bucks and see whats really happening with your car
