TCS light?

Hello everyone, my TCS lights goes on and the check engine as well. I took it to a shop and they told me that im EGR valve was the problem, and that there was carbon build up in it. They wanna charge me 250 to get it cleaned. I was wondering os it cheaper to purchase a new one or get it cleaned? and if the valve need to be cleaned, what does the TCS have to do with the valve?

Thanks...

Its not the EGR itself that needs to be cleaned but the ports. Look in the DIY thread. There is a DIY on how to clean it yourself. It is pretty easy. Should take a hr or 2 taking your time for the first time.

Hey, I just took my 2002 Acura TL out of storage... 120,000 miles, well maintained. Check engine light came on and then TCS light comes on and stays on while driving. I got out code reader and it is a knock sensor malfuntion OS325 or something like that. TCS light goes out when car shut off, but comes back on when 1 mile or so of driving.

When I went to get car, 1 front tire was totally flat. That may be affecting TCS. I pumped it up, but it may be damaged from being flat all summer. Any thoughts greatly appreciated, Oh yeah, I am unsure where DIY EGR cleaning thread. Thanks

Question TCS light and trans leak

I have a similar situation.
First...the CEL light came on a couple months ago. When checked it read as a code for Fuel/Emissions (I believe P0401). My mechanic said something in the back needed replaced before I get my next emissions test. I forget what it was, but I am assuming it is the EGR valve?

Next thing....I have always noticed a little jerkiness with the shifting of gears, but recently it seems to have been happening more often. If I am in first gear, let off the gas, then punch it a little bit, it takes a second to shift and jerks into gear.

Last thing....the other day I noticed a leak in my driveway. It turns out it is leaking transmission fluid while driving. I added some today and I'm going to have my mechanic look at it Monday. Is this a common problem with the 99 TL trans? I am assuming the tranny is going up on me. I have to act VERY fast. I am currently at 104,500 and I believe the factory warranty was extended to 105k, am I right? And does the warranty cover this?
