TCS and ABS light is on
TCS and ABS light is on
I drive a 99 3.2 TL with 162k miles. I JUST had the tranny replaced for the 2nd time, the problem is that my TCS and ABS light is on and i dont know why. My CEL is not on. I had my brakes done about a month ago. Can anybody please give me some insight?
Chk. wheel sensors.
Here are the 100+ reasons (from the service manual):
• For ABS or TCS Indicator:
- Only drive wheels rotate
- One drive wheel is stuck
- The vehicle goes into a spin.
- The ABS continues to operate for a long time.
- The vehicle is subjected to an electrical signal disturbance.
• For TCS Indicator:
- The TCS operated when the front brake pad temperature was excessively high.
- The TCS switch is OFF.
- One or more of these components are faulty:
Heated oxygen sensor,
Manifold absolute pressure sensor,
Crankshaft position sensor,
Engine coolant temperature sensor,
Throttle position sensor,
Top dead center sensor,
Top dead center sensor 2,
Intake air temperature sensor,
Exhaust gas recirculation,
Barometric pressure sensor,
Idle air control valve,
VTEC pressure switch,
Knock sensor,
Fuel supply system,
Automatic transaxle,
Misfire detection system of the PGM-FI system
...that's why getting the code(s) would really help. I don't know if the usual parts stores (AutoZone, Advance, etc.) have scanners that will read ABS codes. You can retrieve the codes yourself if you are comfortable sticking wires in the OBDII port.

I have a 2000 TL and both my TCS and ABS lights are on but the dealership I brought it from back in 2008 called the Acura dealership and they said it was sensors and a recall so you might want to see what they say. Hope this helps.
