Searched for this and found nothing.

Switched to the tape function and nothing happened...no clicking of the heads and no grinding noise of the tape. Hit the eject button. Nada. Then it came up with a tape error message. After a few more tries, I now have both the forward/reverse arrows constantly on the head unit (even when not in tape mode) and the tape function is completely dead.

Yeah, the tape is still stuck in there

Anyone ever hear of this before?

 

Did you try pushing the tape in a bit and then trying the eject button? sometimes that can free up a tape mechanism.

Yuppers. Pushed it forward, pulled back, tried to pry it up.....everything. Doesn't do anything now since those arrows appeared on the display--not even attempt to eject.

 

OK, if you have the security code handy, try disconnecting the car battery and then reconnecting it. Sometimes a power cycle can reset things.

Also, what year TL is the radio from?
