Wink Stereo Control on Steering Wheel Not Working

I have a '99 TL that the steering wheel controls for the stereo do not work. The used car dealer, who we bought the TL from, said first to replace the main relay. That didn't do anything. Next he said to replace the Spring Cable Relay Assembly, which is in the steering wheel (behind the air bag). That has been done and still nothing. My horn also is non-functioning. Any suggestions??

so you replaced the cable reel and it doesnt work, you checked the fuses. i dont see any reasons that it shouldnt be. they are seperate systems.

Does the cruise control work?

Steering Wheel Stereo Controls Not Working

Well, I thought we checked the fuses, and you'd think that the dealer surely would have....but you never know. And yes, the cruise does work...always has, since I bought the car.

Right now the TL is in the shop getting a Dodge Ram bite fixed on the left rear quarter , so I will have to check it next week, when I get the car back.

Are you saying that the stereo controls and the horn are two different systems? Hmmm. If so, that makes that dealer even lamer than I thought. He is supposed to be a former certified Honda mechanic for 10 yrs. or so!

Thanks
