I got a 2000 TL with 198k on it and have recently had oil and tranny fluid drained and replaced, got new spark plugs, cleaned intake manifold and checked my coils. my car will crank over and spark after holding it for a second and idle fine but it seems as soon as I put the accelerator down my car stalls out. I was told that if it was the alternator, nothing on the inside would light up, but everything inside seems to work fine. also, the only time I can get the car going is when I start in neutral and smash the gas before I shift to D5, even then the car doesn't go for very long before stalling out. I also noticed that my key when in the ignition in the off mode, doesn't always beep like it should, but when applying a little bit of pressure the beeping will start/restart/ or stop. now the only thing I have to check is my EGR Valve or my ignition switch. please halp!

Hi, it sounds like you are having problems with the car stalling out when in drive (and in neutral or parked); is this true?

are you having any check engine lights (CEL) present? If you are, you should get the code for these first.

who performed the work on cleaning the intake manifold?

what leads you to believe EGR valve? are you sure you didn't mean IAC valve?

Icleaned manifold and EGR and iacv then put in premium gas and sea foam and cleaned the smaller filter on my pump and it's still stalling out, more so when slowing down. could it be that I have a bad ground for my battery or too much atf?
