Unhappy SRS light on

Hi guys,
My 03 TL-S SRS light came on last week and reset it. It has code 1-3. The light went off after reset but again it came on today and still the same code. Does anyone have an experience with this problem and DIY fix? Any help is appreciated

did you do ANY work on the car recently where electrical was involved?
NO--and you did the srs reset procedure in our DIY? and it came back on?
then call dealer for appointment

there is a special 10 year 150 kmiles special warranty on the SRS
which covers 99.9% of the possible failures that throw that light
there is one part not covered,, but rarely the one the fails

It's a rebuilt car. I didn't do any electrical work on it. I did the SRS reset at a local auto shop with their scanner. Could you please send me the DIY link for the reset procedure? Does it work different than resetting with a scanner? My car has 168,000 miles on it. I dont think there is any warranty left.
Thanks

our diy section,,the 3rd item down the master list
https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/new-official-2nd-gen-tl-diy-thread-706083/
scroll thru there to SRS reset procedure- its different than a scanner method

the special warranty on certain safety issues is valid even for rebuilt title cars
this one is 10/150, and it never hurts to ask the service MANAGER if they can help you out even a little past miles

Acura dealer Master techs--some help on this one?
whats the code mean--suggested part it relates to?

If the OPDS sensors are part of the special warranty you cite, I found this to be untrue concerning an OPDS sensor causing an intermittent SRS fault indication on my car. Once they learned it had a rebuilt title they declined to replace it. Better to check first.

Again I reset in today with a scanner tool at the same shop and will see if it comes back on. So, actually I was concerned with the code. Any Acura master tech around here to help on this issue and code?
Thanks for all your suggestions guys and looking forward to hear more from Acura Master Tech.

there are some ,,just have to wait till they have time to be here!

totalld. I know some things are still covered with salvage/rebuilt title- but not all
thats why I put the `certain` disclaimer!

the opds sensor is the more common part failure, to my sometimes limited knowledge

wonder if that relates to our recall on the airbag inflator??

doh! thats what I was thinking still covers with rebuilt title--recalls
not the extended special warranty on certain things

ck your VIN against the list or call acura dealer service with vin

Recalls
Concerned about safety? So is Acura. That's why My Acura provides up-to-date recall information about your vehicle. Because My Acura recall listings are based on your Acura's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), they are specific to your vehicle.

(This is an electronic version of the letter that will be mailed to you. Please wait until you receive the actual letter before contacting your dealer.)

Your 2003 Acura is included in the 2001-2003 3.2CL; 2000-2003 3.2TL; 2004 TL Automatic Transmission 2nd Gear Campaign.

Description
2001-2003 3.2CL; 2000-2003 3.2TL; 2004 TL Automatic Transmission 2nd Gear
Type Recall Customer Letter
Status Fixed
Your 2003 Acura is included in the 2002-2003 TL Driver Airbag Campaign.

Description
2002-2003 TL Driver Airbag en Español
Type Recall Customer Letter
Status Fixed
Schedule Service Appointment

Recently announced recall information:
SRS_Inflator_Recall_Expansion_Dec2011 - Acura

This is what I have on MyAcura Account and I called both the dealer as well as Acura about this but they said it has been already fixed and said my vehicle is not qualified. Since the extended recall is released on Dec 2011 I don't understand why is it not covered. Does anyone have an idea about this?
Thanks

I would guess your car's VIN isn't within the range of the recall.

Still no solution...... It is not showing the current code when scanned, instead the code 1-3 is in history. Does that mean I have to hard reset the module from an expert and see what happens? Is it possible that the stored code would be from the accident before it was rebuild?

were the airbags deployed in the accident?
some special reset is needed and maybe a sensor or two as well
airbags replaced? with what from where?

on recall status:
FIXED means its been to the dealer and the required work has been done = FIXED

OPEN means its an open case in the system = needs to get to dealer

they track every VIN in the list to see that ALL included do get it performed
its a major safety issue- the govt is involved in the tracking etc
