When the car is running the SRS light stays on??? If so bring it to the dealer. Only they can read the codes. There is also a a faulty part that they usually replace under an extended warranty.

Or you can reset the light yourself and hope it stays off. If it comes back on get it to the dealer as when the light is on none of your airbags work.

It is "on" all the way when my car is running...so I think sth is wrong, but when u talk about an extended warranty, i would bring this up to the dealer and see how it goes..... but i doubt my car is still under any warranty since it is a 2002 TL, 6 yrs old.....

Thx....stay tuned!!!

Its a special 10 year 150,000 mile warranty on the SRS- airbag system
has nothing to do with any factory or purchased warranty~
some parts of SRS fail- hopefully the one thats causing your light, so call the dealer and tell them its on all the time- they will make a first available appointment for you

call acura too and tell them its on- 1-800-382-2238 x5,, have them log you in as owner of record to- for any future recall notices.

you still have 7 year+9 month or 109k miles special transmission warranty too!
court ordered- has nothing to do with any other warranty!
as long as not salvage title car-you have warranty on the trans

So those (SRS and Transmission) warranties also apply to Canadian TL cars? coz you mentioned the mileage in mile, but we are in km.......like 150,000 mil = 241,500km and 109,000 mil = 175,490km

But it is such an important message to me here... Definitely I will phone to local Acura dealer and see how they answer me!

Stay tuned!!!

I dont know about canada- there is a freecall number and website for you guys- one of your contrymann will have it here or check the owner book- ask the dealer
The trans warranty extension was a USA court issue
the SRS is a safety item so different but hopefully more expansive coverage

The opds unit in the passenger side front seat is covered under the warranty extension, it requires replacement of pad and sensor and reset system with hds, or it may be just a belt tensioner in the seat belt which is warrantied 4-life. unless car has been in a recent accident.

My friend from Acura Dealer just checked out my car today........and he said my car is still under warranty extension for transmission and seat belt sensor things (not sure what's exactly..)....but again SRS light on could be related to several problems....so after running a diagnosis, if it is other problems, like airbag or SRS sensor... then i need to pay for those....

90% of the time it's opds unit (covered) 9.9% its belt tensioner (covered) and once in a great while it's something else, usually the customer was not hones with us or themselves and its accident related like a damage sensor. or even more rare rodent damaged wires (knock on wood)

Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) it is integrated into the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) when it's not functioning none of your air bags will go off in a collision. I believe it does apply to Canadain cars, if in doubt call client service at (800) 382-2238. from my experience air bags don't go bad on their own they are either tampered with or damaged due to accident. the other 1% are damaged, tampered components or rodent damage, meaning a rat or mouse chewed through a wire harness and that can be expensive and definetly not warrantable.

My SRS light came on when my battery started flaking out. I replaced the battery, reset the SRS on my own, and haven't had any problem since. That was over a year ago.

Over a year ago my SRS light came on on my 2000 TL. I don't recall if it was only flashing or solid. Eventually I realized that my original battery was beginning to flake out and it could be the cause.

I replaced the battery, reset the light myself and haven't had any problem since.

after all, i got free service for transmission and OPDS replacements and just walking away from the dealer w/o paying anything...... but they tried to blame the reason why OPDS turned bad.....they said 1) I should not put the car seat cover (mat) on the driver seat... it is just a plain sheet on top of the car seat.....very light.... they said it will screw up the sensor from the seat.... 2) I should not use the flash light lamp in the car (those lights will be flashing with noise/vibration sensor)... it will screw up the OPDS again.....

It sounds ridiculous....right?
