Speedometer stopped working.

So I was attaching my portable GPS nav to my dash and to get it to stick I was hammering down the sticky part with my fist. As a result my speedometer stopped working. All my other dials work just fine.

Any suggestions?

You may have knocked one of the connectors loose but that seems unlikely. Is it only the speedometer or are the other gauges not working? If its just the speedometer, you may have loosened a connection on the pins that connect it to the cluster itself. You could try to reseat the gauge by removing the cluster and taking off the black shroud using the clips. Then you just straighten the two metal tabs holding the gauge in on the back side of the cluster near where the light bulbs screw in. Make sure you pull it out by the edges of the gauge and not by the needle.

Yeah all my other gauges work fine. I'm pretty sure I just loosened something up. Not really clear on your instructions on how to access behind the clusters.

Start by lowering the steering wheel as far down as it will go and then remove the top shroud on the steering wheel column, it should just pull straight up if you wiggle it around a bit. Next remove the two screws on face of the dashboard above the clusters. Then start to pull the face of the dashboard or whatever you'd call it out. It may be tight if its never been removed so you may want to use a knife or something with some tape around it to protect the plastic. Start under the climate control unit where it meets the tray above the radio. you just have to pull it straight out. Get it just far enough until you can reach behind in order to remove the connectors from the clock, trip reset buttons, and climate control. Once you've got all that disconnected, keep prying at it until you can reach and disconnect the fog switch, cruise control, and sun roof switches. Now you just maneuver the whole thing up and around the steering wheel. You should now have access to the two screws holding the cluster in. Three connections on the top of the cluster and its out.

Thanks. I think I'm going to replace my clock light while I'm at it. Does anyone know which kind of bulb it uses? Btw, thanks again man.

Fixed it. The speedometer hand was stuck on the other side of the pin. It was an easy fix. The longest part of the fix was getting radio shacks dumb employees to find the bulb I needed for my clock.

I ended up buying a smaller one 272-1092 and using that instead.

Thanks again bro.
