Should I buy this 2001 TL?

Should I buy this 2001 TL?
Hi. I lost my 1999 TL, with 130m miles and a second tranny, in a flood on March 2nd. State Farm paid me well ($9,247), so there's a plug for them.
I am thinking of bidding on Ebay (that's how I got my first) on a 2001 TL with 106,702 miles. Carfax is clean, with "No Recalls Reported " in the Manufacturer Recall Check box (whatever that means).
VIN is 19UUA56631A015547.
Bidding on the car ends April 2 at 19:00 EDT. Ebay "Buy It Now" price is $7,990.
I asked the non-Acura dealer if there was a new tranny in the car, but he didn't know.
I recall a letter from a class action settlement saying the coverage was increased from 100M to 109,000 or so, with a corresponding increase in the warranty time period, but I don't know where that letter is anymore.
Can I bid on the car AND still protect myself against these flawed trannies?
Thanks to all of you. Greg.

You can call Acura with the VIN and they'll tell you if the car is still under warranty.
But at 106,702 miles, you'd have hardly any coverage left.
Were you able to see the car in person?
Personally, I can't see buying a big ticket item like a car without seeing it in person.
If you really want a 2nd gen TL again, why not find one with less miles so you can benefit from the 109,000 mile warranty?
I would not buy a second gen TL without some level of transmission warranty unless it was heavily discounted. The transmissions have significant reliability problems and replacing them isn't cheap.
My advice is to pass on that eBay car.

Wanna bet this car has salvage title or other issues
Thats awful cheap for a TL in good condition
The call to acura is free 1 800-382-2238 x 5
Give them vin, tell them looking to buy, need history
Carfax only knows what its told and often has no clue about things
