shift gate light

the light that lights up the shift gate is out. Do i have to pry out the plastic shiftgate pieces to access the bulb?

Yea, the trim piece, the piece with the lettering, and then the clear plastic piece. The bulb's under that.

How do you remove the bulb? Do you have to access it from the bottom or is there a way to pry/pull it out?

I broke the bulb trying to pry...

You just pull straight up. Try not to squeeze too hard if you're using needle nose pliers. I was able to get it with my fingers, barely.
