Rough shift from P to R when parked on an incline

I was wondering what the issues was. Whenever i park on the driveway (incline), when i try to back out (Shift from P to R), it gives me a strong jerk after when i set it to R. Is this a transmission issue?

try parking ....while keeping your foot on the brake push down the ebrake..den let go..and go about your day..when you come back it should shift normally..since ur letting your car sit on ur tranny its going to be harder to shift out of park...but when you put your ebrake down..the car sits on the brake insted...

You will get that in any car on an incline.

Yes, here is what I do since I park on an incline EVERY day since my street is on a hill.

1. Park car where you want.
2. Put transmission in neutral with your foot on the brake.
3. Engage parking brake.
4. Take foot off the brake. You will notice the car settles on the parking brake.
5. Shift into Park and now your car is not being held by your transmission.

Now - when you leave. Start the car, put the car in drive, and with your foot ON the brake..... then disengage the ebrake and you are ready to drive off. No jerking at all.

^ there's a lot more weight being held in a TL in comparison to a Civic

all cars do that when parked in an incline..... our engine mounts also sometime feel like it bad when its not. I think they're hydrolic

The problem is : Put car in R
There is a notable delay
Then almost like, the car realise, that oh, I am supposed to
to be in R and it hurry to get there with a gerking action.

Tried my best to explain, seems more like a broken engine mount, except for the little delay.

To the OP. Try cleaning the shift solenoid see if that helps.
Was contemplating doing that with mine but no longer interested in dealing with the crapomattic trans anymore.
