Rotor ques

hey i looked at my rotor today and my passenger side rotor is starting to get grinded down. what can be causing that to happen? my rotors are slotted powerslots with shitty pads. its starting to get worst now. can it be the caliper or maybe something is loose? im planning on buying new rotors and pads this week but dont want my new rotors to get grinded down like whats happening now.

thanks
mike

What do you mean by grinded down? Is it all rough? just showing more signs of wear than the others? I would take the caliper off and see if the pads are in good shape or are completely worn out.

I would also look for wearing or some type of caliper to rotor touching to see if any part is touching. thats not supposed to be

yea like theres deep grooves on the pass side rotor. now when i brake my pedal basically touches the floor all the way unless i pump the brakes. my tcs and abs light are on constantly now. the pads were put on about 2 months ago.

Powerslot rotors- and all rotors with extra holes and cuts on the side, wear out pads.
I am ~GUESSING~ since you ar running "shitty pads" that those were a replacement set?
Cheap pads will not last on heavy duty rotors
How many sets of pads on these rotors?

If there is deep grooving in the rotor it means the pads have worn down to the metal backing plate and your braking system is now working in a very different way.
The caliper piston may soon pop out, or get stuck or the rotor could be cut thru at its base

STOP DRIVING and remove the wheel and inspect the brakes NOW

Your insurance company would dishonor any claim of you running into someone with BAAAAAD brakes!!

. First sign that something is wrong is when you have grooves in the rotor. 2nd sign is when you have warning lights on the dash. Id take the wheel off and inspect the pad to make sure there is pad material left. Also check that your brake fluid level is normal.

Did someone- a professional mechanic- check the calipers for you to make sure its just a problem of worn out pads/parts, not bad caliper? There seems to be a few of us this week with caliper issues

Take a cab, rent a car, do anything but drive a TL with metal to metal brakes and warning lights
If you pulled over someone with that same condition - what would you say to them??
Danger on the road!!!!
