Right HID keeps flashing

I tried searching but I couldn't find much information. Basically, periodically my right HID flashes, like there is a loose connection or something and it keeps going in and out. I read something about regrounding the headlights, but I don't know where they are grounded? I've taken my housings out before, I having seen any grounding wires attached to them. Is it my ignitor or ballast going? Or is it just a loose connection? Any help is appreciated.

I would swap the bulbs left to right and see if it does the same thing
If It goes away- you have bulb failure in your near future
If it doesnt fix it- likely ballast- see auto recyler yard for used unit
If the ignitor goes- it wont ignite

Can you park in front of a wall so when you turn on the lights you can see them?
If pink for a split second or 2 seconds- thats the other bulb failure indicator
Always replace in pairs

I'll try swapping bulbs, and I really hope it's not bulb failure, they are less than 6 months old! They are definitely not pink, still bright blue.

or just buy an aftermarket system and still save big and get away from the far from superior factory based ballast/ignitor system

there are main headlight fuses and relays- look in the boxes under the hood- everything is marked

If you find one blown- find the short in the system before replacing and blowing another!!

Well I finally got a chance to look at the bulb... My best guess is that the igniter wasn't seated properly around the bulb. This might have caused an electrical arc which melted the bulb base and the igniter. It is very odd though that they had been working fine for a few months and then only now did this problem happen. Here's a couple pics of the bulb. Anyone have any insight?

condensation caused arcing? hows your housings? and the cover seal for the back of the headlights? anywhere wires go thru allowing moisture in?

Housings are OEM, never cleared. I did have a little bit of an issue with fogging but it went away with a couple of days in the sun. The cover seal is nice and tight. I have a set of cleared headlights made by JnC that I will be eventually putting in once I get a new igniter, so I'll make sure everything is closed up.

fogging inside the housing counts as moisture!
The seal on my OE housings had that prob- never opened at all and still they wore out

So do you think it was just the igniter? Or could it also be the ballast?
